Organization Settings
Org admins (administrators of an organization, such as a class or a team) decide whether AI may be used in its projects and manage its members. They have no access to other organizations or to site administration.
Where to find it
- The account button (your initials) at the right of the top bar → Organization Settings (site admins: Admin → Organizations), or ⌘K → Organization Settings. Organization keys and usage by member are on the Account page under Organizations.
Main actions
- AI on or off: clear Allow AI in this organization's projects to turn AI off. Every AI request for the organization's projects is then refused on the server, also with a member's own key, and the organization's keys are not used. In those projects the ✦ AI control is off and shows “AI is turned off for this organization by its administrator.”
- Which projects: a project belongs to the organization when one of its owners chooses it in the Share dialog under Organization.
- Members: add people by email as Member or Org admin; people without an account get an invitation that adds them when they sign up. Change a role, remove a member or revoke an invitation. An organization keeps at least one org admin.
Tips
- Membership gives no access to projects. Share projects separately.
- With AI on, members use their own keys or the organization's keys.
