Make an OV-1 for DoDAF

Create the high-level operational concept graphic, from a whiteboard or an imported picture, linked to the model.

  1. Open Frameworks → DoDAF and click + Create DoDAF Product. Choose OV-1, then a new root (name, number, description) or an existing one, and Finish.
  2. Set Representation. Use a whiteboard to draw it in Holarch: choose a whiteboard and board (or one frame), or start a new one from the OV-1 template. Import an image (PNG, JPG, SVG) to use a picture made elsewhere.
  3. Whiteboard: click Open Whiteboard. Search the Clipart panel (ships, aircraft, satellites, ground stations, military symbols) and drag pictures onto the board; add arrows, labels and a legend.
  4. Link the picture to the model. On the whiteboard, select an element and choose Model → Link to… in the inspector, then pick the asset, performer or activity. Imported picture: select Draw Hotspot, drag a rectangle and choose the entity.
  5. Back on the product page, fill View information (name, purpose, scope, time frame, architect) and write the Narrative.
  6. Open the Check Architecture tab to catch deleted boards, frames or linked entities.
  7. Export with Export ▾ → Architecture Package (Word): the OV-1 appears with its title block and a table of linked elements.
